"WE ARE CITY LIFE "
It's time for the annual Ministry Fair at City Life!
This is your opportunity to see the big picture of the many ministries that City Life provides. God has shaped you in a specific way to make a kingdom difference. Through Labor Day you’ll have the opportunity to sign up for the SHAPE test so you can gain a better understanding of how God can use YOU for his purposes. We think this is the best possible—and most fun—way to figure out where to serve in the church!
ALL CHURCH WORK DAY
We’re having an All Church Work Day on Saturday, September 12, and it is ALL HANDS ON DECK!
Please—an hour or two of your time would make a huge difference, as we seek to tackle some big projects. Bring a friend or your kids! Time: 9:00 a.m.-noon, and Sue is providing a BREAKFAST to entice us all to come!
SPECIAL GUEST PREACHER EUGENE CHO
September 13
Eugene Cho is coming to City Life! Pastor Eugene is an author, humanitarian, and nationally-known Christian leader in social justice circles. He is a former pastor of a multicultural church in Seattle, and former CEO of Bread for the World, one of one of America’s leading organizations fighting hunger. Eugene Cho has spent his life asking what it looks like for followers of Jesus to put faith into action—especially when it comes to justice, poverty, leadership, and caring for the vulnerable.
We are SUPER excited to host him as our guest preacher on September 13, the week before Fall Kick-off! If you have social-justice-inclined friends, you will want to be sure to invite them to join you at City Life that Sunday!
PARENTS OF TEENS
Important Meeting Sept. 13
There will be an important meeting for parents of 6th-12th graders on Sunday, Sept. 13, after the 11:00 a.m. service. Parents, please do your very best to have at least one parent from your household attend! We will be discussing several important things, including our biggest event: the Follow Youth Conference in Cincinnati in December. We are hoping for 100% participation from all of our teens, because it is THAT great of an opportunity! We'll also cover several other key things for the fall that we don't want you to miss!
FALL KICK-OFF
Be at church on Sunday, Sept. 20!
BAPTISM
Are you interested in baptism?
If you want to hear more about baptism and talk with Pastor Christy about what’s involved, please write “baptism” on your Communication Card.
SHOWER OUTREACH MINISTRY
MTM's Mobile Shower Unit in Our Parking Lot
Every Monday, City Life Church continues to welcome nearly 90 neighbors through our First Neighbors Shower Outreach. More than a meal or a shower, this ministry is about building relationships, restoring dignity, and helping people take meaningful next steps toward stability. Thank you to the many volunteers and partners who make this ministry possible each week.

MONARCH Immigration Legal Services
Citizenship Classes and the English Conversation Café
We’re excited to prepare for our second cohort of Citizenship Classes and English Conversation Café, both running for 9 weeks beginning the first week of May!
Citizenship classes will be offered Saturday and Tuesday mornings from 9:00 a.m.–10:30 a.m., followed by English Conversation Café from 10:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. We will also offer a virtual evening citizenship class on Wednesdays from 7:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. If you’d like to register for citizenship classes, information can be found on our website: monarchimmigration.org. No registration is required for English Conversation Café.
We are currently in need of two volunteers to teach the Saturday morning citizenship class, as well as volunteers for conversation partners for both Tuesday and Saturday English Conversation Café.
For more information or to get involved, please email stacey@monarchimmigration.org.
URBAN LEADERSHIP MINISTRY
Wesley Seminary Scholar-Practitioner Institute
Did you know City Life is working on a partnership with Wesley Seminary on an exciting initiative for urban ministry leadership? This collaboration is designed to strengthen urban leaders and expand the church’s capacity for urban mission by equipping scholars and practitioners with practical tools, theological depth, and real-world ministry formation.
In the coming months, you’ll hear more about what this partnership will offer (and how you can engage), but we wanted you to know: we’re investing now so that City Life can develop leaders, multiply impact, and serve the kingdom with wisdom and courage for the long haul.
